My name is Dr. Wilson Terrell Jr., and I'm the Associate Vice-President for Academic for Academic Affairs: Inclusive Excellence. I started this position in June 2022. In addition, I'm an Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering Science. I have been at Trinity since 2003. I graduated with a B.S., M.S., and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Fighting Illini - home of the best deep dish pizza Papa Dels). I have always love "making" since getting my first Lego set. While in high school, my favorite classes were math, physics, and chemistry. My physics teacher encouraged me to attend a summer engineering program at the University of Illinois, which helped me to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering. Here at Trinity, I primarily teach upper division mechanical engineering type courses and labs, and freshmen engineering design. This is the second time I have taught this course, when it was a pilot called ENGR ...

Hi, welcome to ENGR 2192 intro to making. I’m Ryan, the CSI MakerSpace space supervisor and prototype technician. Feels like an appropriate title as I like to make things and enjoy helping others get their make on. This is my fifth year at Trinity and I’ve been fortunate enough to see the space grow from a single person garage to a real makerspace with a thriving community. In that time, my focus has shifted from layout and the arms race of machine acquisition (we have almost everything a maker could want) to  empowering the users (mostly students).  With that end in mind I enrolled in an MA in creative leadership program last summer. The program emphasizes D.E.V. and decentralized non-hierarchical management and decision making practices. So far, it has all been very applicable to the vibe of the CSI MakerSpace and has extracted from me the question: What could a student lead makerspace feel and look like at Trinity? I’m not sure, but I plan to find out. This semester, starti...
