Introducing Alicia Brechin

Hello, my name is Alicia Brechin and I am a sophomore Religion major and Art minor at Trinity University. I enjoy creating objects using technology and traditional methods, specifically 3D Printing, Digital Art, and Graphic Design. I lean more toward STEAM in school systems, focusing specifically on the Arts and Technology and how they can work together to help others understand and communicate across language barriers. I am in Mu Sigma Psy, a co-ed Music Service Fraternity on campus, and am currently helping to design a shield for them.

After graduation, I hope to become a freelance graphic designer and digital artist. In my free time, I enjoy using the technological tools around me to create and design personal projects such as eco-incorporated building designs. During my high school Engineering Class, my partner and I designed a self Sustainable Refugee complex and presented the "seller's version" as our final project. The design consisted of the full complex layout, as well as an in-depth detail of the two-story houses that made up part of the complex. The whole thing would have been 3D printed using printable concrete, the type used in Austin for their 3D-printed homes.

Through this class, I hope to learn the tools in Makerspace and increase my knowledge of technological tools that I can use when I am creating these personal projects. Right now I only know 3D printing, using power tools, and some digital designing, so I am excited to learn more about the tech tools out there and how to use them and their potential in future projects.
