Introducing Phoebe Murphy

Hi, I’m Phoebe Murphy, a senior communication major and creative writing minor. I came to Trinity pre-med before I realized that creating is what I do best. Most of my "making" comes in the form of my creative interests, which include digital and traditional illustration, photography, creative writing, and all manner of handmade crafts. I have also recently taken an interest in filmmaking and am considering a career in film. When I'm not creating, I like reading, watching YouTube, and playing video games, especially Smash Bros. 

I've always wanted to take advantage of the Makerspace and figured this class was the perfect opportunity to do so. My primary goal this semester is to learn how to use the equipment and make some cool stuff I'm proud of.

My embroidered depiction of the pulsar map on the Voyager golden record. 

My digital illustration of the goddess Psyche, in celebration of NASA's mission to the Psyche asteroid. 

On the set of a short film I directed and photographed last semester.

  The first step I took in creating this project was determining what I wanted to do. My wife has a chronic illness that affects her joints and it was recommended by her doctor that she wear thumb braces daily. She's gone through a numerous amount of some braces and different styles each one not covering all of the bases that it needs to. There are three joints in the thumb that need to be protected.  My name is Dana Sheehan, and I am currently a junior Chemistry major. In general, I'm super into crafting and just creating stuff in general, so I have experience with woodworking, sewing, crochet, and more.  Hello, my name is Alicia Brechin and I am a sophomore Religion major and Art minor at Trinity University. I enjoy creating objects using technology and traditional methods, specifically 3D Printing, Digital Art, and Graphic Design. I lean more toward STEAM in school systems, focusing specifically on the Arts and Technology and how they can work together to help others understand and communicate across language barriers.
